Update from the Medical Officer of Health for Sudbury and districts
Issued: Wednesday, November 16, 2022In alignment with Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, local Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Penny Sutcliffe, has shared strong recommendations with directors of education, post-secondary institution heads, licensed and private child care centre operators, municipal CAOs, chambers of commerce, and business owners and operators to reinforce and support masking in all indoor public settings for which they have responsibility and to get back to basics during a difficult fall respiratory illness season.
Combined efforts are being called upon to safeguard health and the health system, particularly for children and for older adults and those who are medically vulnerable in Sudbury and the districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. This is further to Dr. Sutcliffe’s call November 3 to strengthen personal protective measures such as masking, getting COVID-19 booster and flu vaccines, and staying away from others if unwell, in the wake of worsening health trends.
