FOR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION

The Ontario Ministry of Health has requested that public health units share the attached memorandum with local clinicians. This memorandum (PDF, 140 KB) confirms provincial recommendations and Directive #5 which state that health care providers conduct point of care risk assessments and use personal protective equipment appropriate for the task. These recommendations are based on current literature which is reviewed regularly by Public Health Ontario and the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee.
