Street drugs and pregnancy
Using illegal street drugs during pregnancy can cause harm to both you and your baby.
What are some of the effects drugs can have on a baby?
Babies born to mothers who take drugs may:
- Be born too soon and too small
- Have medical problems
- Go through drug withdrawal
- Have problems learning
What can you do?
- Do not take drugs during pregnancy
- Talk to your health care provider and ask about programs to help you quit
