What is healthy sexuality?
Healthy sexuality is the ability to understand, enjoy and control your own sexual behaviour in a way that enriches your life and your relationships. It allows you to have healthy relationships that include respect, trust, support and equality.
What is a healthy relationship?
In a healthy relationship, you:
- communicate openly and honestly
- feel good about yourself
- trust your partner
- respect your partner
- fight fairly
- know that sexuality is only one part of your relationship
In an unhealthy relationship, one or both of you:
- put your partner down
- are constantly jealous
- try to control your partner
- are dependent on your partner
- lie and hide things
- use your partner for sex
