Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

RSV is a highly contagious respiratory virus that circulates every year between fall and spring. Most people that get RSV will only have mild, cold-like symptoms. However, infants, young children, and older adults are at higher risk of RSV causing severe respiratory illness. It can lead to lung infections such as bronchiolitis (a chest infection that affects the lungs and airways).
