Changes to Public Health’s respiratory illness reporting

As a result of restructuring of provincial data sources, Public Health Sudbury & Districts no longer has access to some COVID-19 data and will no longer report on testing and case details related to COVID-19.

In addition, the agency’s Respiratory Illness Surveillance Dashboard will be temporarily unavailable while Public Health makes updates to include data that remains available, namely COVID-19 in wastewater; outbreaks for COVID-19, influenza, and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus); and hospital admissions for COVID-19, influenza, and RSV.

For the remainder of the summer, COVID-19 vaccination data and detailed hospitalization reporting data will also be paused to allow work to update the reports, with the goal of resuming these in the fall.

Public Health continues to post up-to-date information online about active outbreaks in the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts related to respiratory and enteric diseases. Public Health will also continue to monitor and respond to outbreaks and reports of respiratory illness in the community and will continue its efforts to limit the spread of infections and control outbreaks.
